Bartenders' Pet Peeves Could Get Customers Thrown Out Of The Bar

Many bartenders believe they would have the perfect job if not for the customers. Some patrons are messy, loud, or just a plain nuisance. Remember to be on your best behavior and avoid these mistakes, because bartenders are people too. On top of that, they're the ones who decide whether to pour you another round or toss you to the curb.

1. No Waves

While waiting for your friendly and loyal bartender to collect your order, be patient. Waving your hands or cash in the air is not the best approach. Plenty of bartenders find that annoying. Someone could even snatch that money. But what about if your friends are nearby, and you want to keep your bartender's attention once you have it?

2. Hostage Crisis

Leave them be. Just because all of your friends are taking their time figuring out their orders, that doesn't mean you should keep the bartender waiting on them. Waiting means losing out on patrons who are actually ready to fork over their money and tips. And they have to deal with enough, especially female bartenders.

3. No Nicknames

If your first reaction upon encountering a female bartender is to call them, "Sweetie," you are most definitely annoying her. She has a name. But to make sure they get tips, many bartenders try to keep their annoyance to themselves. Another good note to keep: don't attempt the following conversation starter.

4. Convo Killers

Politics will never be the best topic to ask your bartender about. They'll be on edge on how they respond with the other patrons nearby, who might not be like-minded. Bartenders are there to make a living, not broadcast the news coverage and risk losing a tip. Beyond politics, there are several other questions that should kindly be avoided.
