People Are Asking If Harry’s Daughter Lilibet Ever Got To Meet The Queen

Fans of the royal family have had an interesting few years. It wasn’t that long ago that Prince Harry started a family, decided to give up on being a working royal, and moved away from the United Kingdom. Since then, things have only become more eventful, recently culminating in the sad death of Queen Elizabeth II. The initial fallout from that seismic event has begun to settle, but it has left some people wondering: did the late monarch ever get to meet Harry’s youngest before the end?

Number 11

That child is, of course, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, the sister of Archie. As the daughter of Harry, she was one of Elizabeth’s many great-grandchildren. To be precise, she was great-grandchild number 11. Her name, Lilibet, was actually inspired by a nickname the Queen herself used to go by when she was young.

Born in the USA

Lilibet arrived into the world on June 4, 2021. Her birthplace was California, rather than anywhere in the U.K. That, of course, was because her parents Harry and Meghan had previously decided to step back from the royal family and to begin a new life in the United States. As we all know, it was a decision that had caused a storm in the press.

Explaining his reasons

The reaction to the move had been so intense that Harry himself had been forced to address it in an interview with James Corden on his Late, Late Show in February 2021. During this chat, the royal spoke about his decision to leave the U.K. and how he came to it. All of this was taking place on the roof of a double-decker bus, incidentally.

Toxic press

Harry had explained, “It was never walking away; it was stepping back rather than stepping down. You know, it was a really difficult environment, as I think a lot of people saw. We all know what the British press can be like, and it was destroying my mental health. I was like, ‘This is toxic.’”
