2-Year-Old Had Vivid Memories Of A 'Past Life' That Experts Still Can't Explain

James Leininger and his family moved all over the country. By the time he was two years old in 2000, he'd lived in San Francisco, Dallas, and Lafayette. He was a well-traveled kid, and he'd seen people from all over the United States. But even after all the flights, long car rides, and new homes, it was apparent that James had way too much information in his head. More than any two year old had a right to know. His parents didn't notice until they heard the details of little James' reoccurring nightmares...

Like Any Child

In many ways, James Leininger was just like any two-year-old: Playful, imaginative, and brimming with quirks and interests. But, he was different, too. He loved airplanes. Like, a lot. His parents, Bruce and Andrea, didn't see anything wrong with this per se, but they knew something was a little different.

The Power Of Knowledge

James knew bizarrely specific information about aircraft — specifically, fighter planes — and his parents had no idea where he got such specialized knowledge; it's not like Bruce and Andrea were constantly watching documentaries on warfare.

Prepared To Pilot

When he was playing, James would take his toy planes and run through accurate pre-flight checks. One time, he pointed to a specific part of a plane, named it and described its function — something Andrea had never taught him. Perhaps, his parents thought, this was all a coincidence. Perhaps he'd overheard neighbors talking. But then James started having nightmares.

James In Danger

James began kicking and screaming in his bed. His worried parents came running to his rescue from the nightmare. When they finally shook him awake, he screamed in terror, "Airplane crash! Plane on fire! Little man can’t get out!" It was eerie and disturbing, so the parents pried deeper into the dream.
