Spectacular DIY Fails That Made Us Laugh And Then Cringe

Completing a DIY project is empowering — when everything goes smoothly! Your ego might take a bruising if that entertainment center you built has a wonky, wobbling leg that helps your TV take a quick trip to the living room floor. But look at the bright side. As long as you approach a project with good intentions and an eye for safety, you'll be far better off than anything these ambitious handypeople came, saw, and tried to conquer.

60. Before Car Entertainment

We guess this could have been a nice fix before TVs started coming standard in luxury car headrests. It looks suspect, but that’s an industrial fastener — this kid will be just fine!

59. Construction Works

It feels like this person got a little too much out of high school electricity courses. Their laptop charger didn't fit into the socket overseas, so they created a workaround with a screwdriver and another tool. Note: if a project involves sticking a screwdriver into a socket, reconsider!

58. Bootleg Skates

Please don’t try this at home. This is an admirable idea, but tape just can’t carry the weight of a whole human, and those wobbly old desk chair wheels are likely to twist and turn all over the place. Save up and buy real rollerblades from the thrift store!

57. Toilet Hand Wash

In this episode of A Size Too Small, we have another example of function winning over aesthetics. The sink drains into the urinal, which drains into... we hope the actual plumbing system. There's a great opportunity to multi-task here.
